GOLD PLATED/VERMEIL

Vermeil refers to Solid Sterling Silver that has been plated with a layer of 18ct. gold through a process called micron plating. Micron plating involves electrolysis, making it the most resilient form of gold plating. For an item to be classified as vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 2.5 micrometers thick.

GOLD FILLED

Gold filled is a finishing technique where a layer of pure gold is bonded to the core metal through a process of pressure bonding. It's important to note that gold filled should not be mistaken for gold plated or vermeil, as gold filled items have a thickness that is 5 to 10 times greater than gold plated items. Gold filled jewelry is both highly valuable and resistant to tarnishing, which means it won't flake off, rub off, or change color over time.

PEARLS

At Riley Watson, we exclusively utilize ethically sourced pearls in our creations. Since they are natural, each pearl is unique, and we carefully select only the finest ones when handcrafting our pieces. We do not incorporate synthetic pearls into our jewelry, ensuring that every item is adorned with genuine, natural pearls.
